Hawzah News Agency — Speaking Saturday evening at a Unity Week celebration held at the Hasanain Mosque in Genaveh, Sheikh Mohammad Farouqi extended his congratulations on the birth anniversaries of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (AS), while honoring both Unity Week and Government Week.
A Prophet for All Humanity
"The Messenger of God is a universal prophet belonging to all human beings, and his mission is for the entirety of mankind," Farouqi stated, highlighting the global dimension of the Prophet's message.
The Sunni cleric described Unity Week as carrying a clear message of "oneness and togetherness" among Muslims, noting that the occasion was introduced through the initiative of the late founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini.
"Today, Shia and Sunni Muslims stand side by side during these days, honoring the blessings of unity and solidarity," Farouqi said.
A Legacy of Coexistence
Emphasizing the continuation of unity in Genaveh, the Sunni leader affirmed: "The Sunni community of Genaveh, as in the past, stands with all its being alongside its Shia brothers and sisters. The people of this region have lived together as brothers and sisters, and this path will continue into the future."
Farouqi stressed that the tradition of unity is deeply rooted in the community's history.
"Our fathers traversed the path of unity and brotherhood, and our children will continue this journey. The friendship, love and affection between Sunnis and their Shia brothers will remain steadfast," he declared.
The gathering brought together local officials and residents in a demonstration of the enduring interfaith harmony that characterizes the coastal region of southern Iran.
